Server Back Up

Just wanted to let you know that my server is up and running. Still no idea what happened to make it go offline. Thanks go out to Fal for keeping an eye on it with me and helping to get it online.

Server Down

Just wanted to let you all know that my server is down. I have no idea what's going on, but it looks like something went wrong during the 4:15am BackUp. I am at work and am having internet connection issues but will still try to get this resolved. I have no idea when I'll be able to get the server up and running. Please be patient.

ARK's own Halloween event was a bust this year and the Dodo Rex was not included/summonable. As a substitution, just let me know which dinosaur you'd like and I'll summon one in at max level for you.

I apologize if I missed anyone elses build. Nobody notified me in game that they had put anything together for the contest.

I'll keep the Halloween mod installed for a few more days in case any other players would like to see your builds in person. Goonie's build can be found at roughly 26 lat, 17 lon. s+mitch's build can be found at roughly 65 lat, 78 lon.

Halloween Contest Judging Delayed

Hello all!

    There is an issue with Steam tonight and nobody is able to log into any ARK servers, officials and unofficials alike. Therefore, I am not able to log in and judge any Halloween builds/decorating you may have done. I will get to it as soon as I am able to log in and will post winners here, as well as post winners in my Discord channel.

New Server...YAY!

Hello all!

Just wanted to let you all know that my server host has moved/created my server on a new box. They have put me on the same box as a friend, Falandir, who has multiple ARK servers and have included my server in his cluster.

What this means for you all is that you now have a variety of maps to play on. You will be able to transfer your character from my server to any of his and then bring them back when you are ready. Or you can create a character on any of his servers and bring them to mine whenever you want.

The easiest way for you all to gain access to his servers will be to go to your Steam Server List in your Steam app. Click View at the top of Steam app, then click Servers in dropdown, then click on Favorites tab in new window that opens up. Click 'Add A Server' button on bottom right corner of window. You will then need to add the following IP Addresses (one at a time of course) to instantly have all of our servers in your Favorites list within ARK.

After you enter the IP address just click the 'Add This Address To Favorites' button. And *voila*, the server will be in your Favorites List when you log into ARK. Do this for all servers or just mine. Whichever one(s) you think you'll play on.

My server will still have all of the same settings as before, as well as the same mods. I am switching out a few mods for others of the same type that seem to perform better...namely StackMeMore will become HG Stacking Mod 5000-90 v271, and Kibble Table will become Bitouk's Kibble: Craft Station. I've also removed the Meat Spoiler mod since I know many of you do not like the music from it. Spoiling Bin mod (which I installed a week or so ago) will remain.

Please give me a few more hours to reinstall all the mods, and adjust all the config file settings for my new server.

Hello all!

I apologize in advance, but I have to do a full wipe on the server. I have server down now and will post here, and in Discord, when the server is back up.

I will be extending the Halloween contest by a week. I know we will all be starting back at level 1, but thankfully the Halloween decorations don't take many resources to make. We can decorate as we build new bases. I'll also help you all out with resources if you want/need.

Trying to resolve server issues...

Hey all!

Just wanted to let you all know that I am doing what I can to resolve the 'timedout' disconnect issues. I've noticed something wonky in my server's log files and have submitted a support ticket with my server host. Hopefully it won't take long to get my server back to a stable state. Sorry for all the troubles and disconnects everyone.

Halloween Building/Decorating Contest

First off, thank you Delfina, S+mitch and DoldaSlow for attending 'Turtle Trek'! It was a lot of fun. And congratulations Dolda on winning the race and claiming your max level Unicorn!!

For our second event, we are having a Halloween building/decorating contest! You will have the remainder of the month to show me what you've got in building/decorating skills.

The rules of this contest are simple. You can decorate your base/buildings that you currently have or build something completely new and decorate it. That's it! Nice and easy-peasy rules.

Now, you may be asking yourself, "How in the world am I going to decorate for Halloween?". The answer is, "by using items from 'Randi's Halloween Mod'!". (Thank you S+mitch for alerting me to this mod)

The contest begins today (sorry for the short notice) and ends at 10:00pm EST on October 31st. I will then look over your buildings/decorations and choose a winner by 12:00am (midnight) EST. The prizes are as follows:

• 1st Place - max level DodoRex & 350 Element
• 2nd Place - 250 Element
• 3rd Place - 150 Element
• All other participants - 25 Element

 You do not need to be online at the close of the contest to win. I do ask, however, that you please make, and place down, a mailbox at your base before then so that I may contact you to make arrangements to get you prizes you may have won.

Also, if you don't think you'll be online at the close of the contest, please send me an in game letter (by using the mailbox mod) with the location/coordinates of your contest entry/building before the contest ends. I would hate to miss out on seeing anyone's entry/building. If you do not have a GPS to send me exact coordinates, just get as close as you can by using the map. Send coordinates in "Latitude then Longitude" format please.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here, at our Discord channel or in game.

I know, I know...it's not like I don't have enough mods already right? Well.....too bad! I've re-installed the 'ecoTrees' mod and have installed the relatively new 'ecoStable Structures & Decor' mod.

Back Sooner Than Expected...Not Complaining!

Hey all, I'm back!

Thanks so much for the well wishes and your patience! I have the server down now and am taking care of all updates, as well as adding back the mod Zipline System.

Here in Sarasota we really dodged a bullet. What was expected to be a category 4 hurricane ended up being about category 1. Even though the eye of the storm did pass over Sarasota, damage in the area was no where near as bad as predicted...thankfully.

I did end up losing power around 7:30pm on Sunday night. By 3pm-ish Monday it was back on. There are areas within Sarasota that are still without power however. But FPL, and all the numerous electricians that have flocked to Florida from all over the US, have been doing an outstanding job at getting power restored as quick as possible.

Again, thank you for all your well wishes and I hope to see you all in game soon.

I Will Be Back When I Can...

Hello all!

There is a high possibility that I will be away for the next few weeks. I live in Sarasota, FL and hurricane Irma will be passing over Sarasota in the next 10-12 hours. We will start feeling hurricane strength winds within the next 4-6 hours. I will most likely be losing power and it can take weeks for it to get restored.

I apologize in advance should any problems/issues arise with the server. I will not be able to do anything about it until power gets restored. My servers are rents, so the game should not go offline. I look over everything and try to get mod/game updates to be done automatically. But, I cannot promise that things won't go awry....I can only hope that they don't.

Supply Drops and Boss Drops

Hey all!

Just wanted to let you know that I've added small amounts of Element to all supply drops - above ground, caves and sea/ocean. I've also given a boost to the amount of Element that drops in boss fights.

Stacking Mod Changed

Sorry, but I had to revert back to the other stack mod, StackMeMore, due to crafting issues with the More Stack mod. I apologize if you've lost any resources and will help replenish them if needed.

Wipe and Mod Changes

Due to log in issues, I have wiped the server. While the server was down I also made some changes to the mods. I have removed quite a few and added a few. Below are lists of what was removed and what was added:

I set experience gains and gathering rates down to 5 (from 10). Taming is still 10, hatching/gestation still 30 and maturation still 35. I added engram over-rides to the S+ items that required Scorched Earth to learn. They will be unlocked upon reaching level 60. I also added over-rides to supply drops. Supply drops should now be as good, if not better, than those supplied by Ark Advance Supply Drops mod.

Holding Off For Now

Hey all, sorry I haven't been around much. I am going to be holding off making any more changes to the server until the game officially releases. And I might not be around much until then as well.

Updated ARK and Added Changes to Game Files

Hello all!

The server is now updated to v262 of ARK. I've also made the following changes to the server/game files:

• I replaced the Giga spawn points for T-Rex spawn points. Since the Devs replaced all the Rex spawn points across the snow biome for Yuty spawn points, I figured using the Giga spawn points would be a good work-a-round. As you know, I have Gigas disabled...so why not use their spawn points for Rexes?
• If needed, I can increase the spawn rates for T-Rexes since they drop an item needed for boss fights
• I replaced the Leeds (raft wrecking whale) spawn points for Dunkle spawn points. Pretty much for the same reasons as above...plus, they are my favorite water dino...so why not have more of them????
• I have added Daeodons back to the map, but have lowered their spawn rates. Hopefully they will not take over the snow biome again.
• I have slightly increased the spawn rates for Tusos (squids)
• I can increase this more if needed since they drop an item needed for boss fights
• I adjusted the amounts of damage Bosses deal, as well as how much damaged they take. I will more than likely be tweaking this again. I am trying to find a suitable setting so that all Bosses can be solo'd, but not so easy that it's a walk in the park. Please bare with me during this.
• I removed the ARK Advanced Supply Drops mod and have replaced it with game file code so that drops should still be worth collecting.

Also, since Gigas do not spawn on my server, I will be placing crates at my base that will contain Giga Hearts for all of you to take. The Giga Hearts are needed for the Beta and Alpha Dragon boss fights. Please, do not take all of them at once. The hearts stack to 100. Please only take one stack at a time. The Beta fight requires 1 heart. The Alpha fight requires 2. A stack of 100 should last you quite a while.


I have made the following adjustments to Baby Dino maturing and imprinting:

• Maturing rate increased to 35x
• Should be a decent time frame for large dinos (2-4 hours depending on dino)
• Might affect imprinting on smaller dinos because they will mature much faster than large dinos
• Cuddle intervals reduced to .20x 
• Shorter time between cuddles, smaller percentage for each cuddle
• 100% imprint might not be possible, especially on smaller dinos

• Increased imprint buff amount to 10x
• Should make up for not getting 100% imprints

Computer Problems & Possible Mod Changes

Sorry I have not been around much the last few days. I've been having some computer problems and it might take another day or two to get them sorted out. I won't bore you with the details, but I foresee a new hard drive coming.

(the thought of reinstalling everything makes me wanna cry)

Also, as I was reading through the update notes for Structures +, I realized that I might be able to remove a mod from the server. The mod to be removed will be Water Bore.

The mod author has adjusted his mod so that the S+ Intake Pipes do not need to be placed in actual water. I know that the Water Bore mod isn't large, but one less mod to load is not a bad thing.

The S+ mod author has also removed the Land Claimer due to issues with it. If you have one at your base, it will be gone. Sorry.

Extra Ark 2.0 Added Back In

The mod author updated Extra Ark 2.0 late last night. I have re-installed it on the server. All appears to be working well now.

You will need to re-learn all of its associated engrams.

New 'Server Status' Page

I've created a new page called 'Server Status'. This is where I will post information as to why the server might be down.

If you see that the server is not online, please check there for reason and length of time it is expected to be down.

Changes to Server Restarts and Backups

I've made some changes to the times that server restarts and backups are performed.

Restarts are still daily and now take place at 4pm EST. In game message reminders should begin 15 minutes prior to this event.

Server backups will now perform daily at 4am EST, instead of weekly. Like with restarts, in game message reminders should begin 15 minutes prior to this event.

The server shuts down, and restarts, for both of these events. Please log out before they begin to prevent corruptions or rollbacks.

Mod Removed (Extra ARK 2.0)

I apologize if removing this mod messes up anything at your base. Apparently, this mod was/is the cause of the server issues I was having. It was creating corrupt saves, as well as not working properly. I have removed it for now and will re-install it when the author gets it fixed.

I have installed a new mod, however. 'APS: Ark Postal Service'. This looks like it could be a very handy mod in the long run. With this mod we will be able to send each other in-game mail.

Server is back up...

I was finally able to get the server up and running again. Had to roll it back to around midnight. Sorry for any inconvenience.

EDIT:

The server ended up rolling back further than what I had chosen. If you need help rebuilding buildings, taming dinos or gathering resources that might have vanished, please let me know. I'll get you taken care of.

Server Temporarily Offline

As the title states, my server is offline temporarily.

I shut the server this morning to perform an update to a mod and have been unable to start the server back up.

I've sent a 'Support Ticket' in to the hosting company letting them know of the issue. Hopefully it can be resolved soon.
